CleverTex aims at develop a master plan and a framework for future actions in research, education and technology transfer in the fields of multi-functional intelligent textile materials in Europe for transforming the industry into a dynamic, innovative, knowledge-driven, competitive and sustainable sector by 2015.

To manage this project, a Delphi study has been performed with experts.

Those results have been used and analysed to prepare:

• a gap analysis: describing gaps in research and development by comparing the priorities indentified by Delphi study to the state of the art and going on research

• a set off possible scenarios illustrating examples of applications of smart textiles based on the results of previous analysis

• a roadmap identifying drivers and barriers of specific markets and making some recommendations helps the future development of smart textile

SYSTEX

A lot of money is being invested to develop intelligent textile systems. However there is a real need to put the results of all activities and policy building together in order to exploit the results, to avoid duplication, to benefit from experience gained and to align future research activities. Some additional actions are needed.

SYSTEX wants to coordinate the activities of these actions and offer complementary actions to reinforce their overall result.
